UCLA School of Medicine’s mobile clinic provides medical services for our clients during our Community Dinner every Wednesday from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm. The UCLA physicians help our clients address a broad array of health problems without needing an appointment or insurance, and they provide referrals for ongoing medical needs.
The UCLA Mobile Eye Clinic provides services during our Community Dinner the 4th Wednesday of every month from 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm. A complete eye examination is done to screen for eye diseases and appropriate referrals are made. Vision exams are conducted and glasses prescriptions are filled, along with free glasses.
The AIDS Health Foundation Mobile STI Clinic provides services the 2nd Wednesday of each month during our Community Dinner, from 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm.
The clinic offers free HIV and STI testing, quick referrals to health and treatment resources, education about sexual health and safety, and condom distribution.
The Salvation Army and the Hollywood Food Coalition have worked together since 2017 to serve the needs of the homeless in Hollywood. This collaboration allows HoFoCo to share space on TSA Hollywood Campus where we prepare and serve our Community Dinner 5 nights a week. On Saturday and Sunday, we prepare our meal there before taking it to Orange and Romaine for our weekend meal service.
HODG (Hang Out Do Good), a grassroots community activist group, galvanizes local families to make thousands of multi-component sack lunches every Sunday. These sack lunches are delivered to HoFoCo for sorting and distribution to 30 of our community partners located throughout Los Angeles County, including outreach workers visiting encampments, homebound seniors, and residential treatment centers.
Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and the Hollywood Food Coalition work together to provide a nutritious weekday lunch to homeless community members through Blessed Sacrament’s Genevieve’s Garden. Blessed Sacrament Church also provides the drop off location where families deliver thousands of beautifully-made sack lunches every week for HODG’s and HoFoCo’s Sunday Lunch Bag Bonanza!
CHPLA’s mission is to improve the health and well being of people affected by drug use in Los Angeles, to increase access to health care, empower people to protect themselves, and educate each other to reduce harm in our communities. They combine direct services, advocacy, outreach, education, and research collaborations to fulfill this mission.
Bici Libre is a non-profit bike shop where tools, parts and used bicycles are available for purchase at very low cost. Volunteer opportunities are available for any skill level. Bici Libre can offer work trade for those who can not afford stand time, bike parts or a bike. Bici Libre was started by the Los Angeles Bicycle Coalition as the Bike Wrangler for gathering and distributing bicycles, but soon developed into a repair co-operative and was re-named Bici Libre. Bici Libre has been continuously serving the community at the location as well as mobile repairs at shelters and day-labor centers. Bici Libre is now in the transition of merging with Los Angeles Rooted youth programming.
At its core, Project Ropa is a mobile service that delivers premium, hand-selected apparel and shoes to those in need. They work with various partners, including clothing manufacturers, retailers, and other non-profits, to give a second life to items originally destined for landfills.
Saban Community Clinic offers patients an extensive range of services from medical, dental, and vision to our on-site pharmacy.
The Center in Hollywood is a nonprofit ending isolation and breaking the cycle of homelessness through radical hospitality in Hollywood and throughout LA County. It is an inclusive space for anyone experiencing homelessness to feel welcome, feel safe, and receive services. They connect people to community, healthcare, and housing with dignity.
Project ID help people get the photo-issued IDs that they need for homes, jobs, food, medical care, and so much more.
Through individualized case management, an evolving job-readiness program, and by providing access to an array of supportive services, Chrysalis helps their clients overcome their barriers to reconnecting to the workforce.
The Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (LACDMH), the largest county mental health department in the country, directly operates more than 85 programs and contracts with providers to provide a spectrum of mental health services to people of all ages to support hope, recovery, and wellbeing. Mental health services provided include assessments, case management, crisis intervention, medication support, peer support and other rehabilitative services. Services are provided in multiple settings including residential facilities, clinics, schools, hospitals, juvenile halls and camps, mental health courts, board and care homes, in the field and in people’s homes. Special emphasis is placed on addressing co-occurring mental health disorders and other health problems such as addiction.
Hollywood United Methodist Church helped launch our Community Exchange in May, 2020, by providing an initial home for the program. In addition, each holiday season they share their campus with community partners to offer Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for our neighbors in need.
Housing Works supports people experiencing homelessness to access a diverse array of permanent supportive housing options. However, housing is just the first step. They walk alongside our participants for as long as it takes to ensure they are working towards stability and community integration at every turn.
